XMBF - Description

Unlike QMBF, XMBF does not have a graphical user interface; XMBF is controlled by XML input files instead. XMBF can perform all the types of fits that QMBF is can do (a tool called MBF_to_XMBF is included, which converts .mbf session files generated by QMBF into XML input files for use with XMBF), but it can also perform more general fits. Most importantly, XMBF can be used to do fits that combine multiple QMBF-type models, each with its own data file, to a simultaneous, fully correlated fit. See the documentation of QMBF for the meaning of ''QMBF-type model'' and the data file format. To allow the correct calculation of correlations when doing a simultaneous fit, the data files for each model must correspond to the same ordered set of measurements. In XMBF, fit parameters with the same name across different models will be shared. The parameter names for each model are defined using input from the user, so that the user can decide which parameters will be common to which fit models.
